"Nope. My friends tended to have parents who went away a lot. Latch key kids. We did have a few responsible adults but I don't think they noticed when things went missing. It was normal stuff. Sips of vodka here and there. Sneaking craft hard cider. You know. Normal stuff."

He does, however, know better than to say anything out loud. She has more legs than he does, she'd pin him in a sibling fight faster than he could say 'punch buggy'.
"Okay," he said, pausing to shake her drink into submission before pouring it out. "It's just us, so I won't feel dumb for asking. What the hell is a latch-key kid?"

"Okay. So basically it's a kid who doesn't have a lot of parental supervision. Given a key and allowed to go out and do.... whatever. They're expected to be more self-sufficient but also just... don't have anyone waiting for them after school. Most of my classmates had that kind of situation. All our folks were busy."

People like it when you involve their interests, no matter what they've got between their legs.

It's either that or go visit the cat town because nothing says fun like cute fuzzy critters who will absolutely boss you around. Honestly the easy part is figuring out what to do besides dinner. ...he's not good...at making friends. He's very sure of that. It's Yugi, the real Yugi, who's good at that, and the other Yugi just piggybacked off of the connections Yugi made.
There's no way he's a friend to a lot of other monsters. There's Ryou of course, and Noa, and Komaeda, and Horatio now...
...and Celeste and Lust and Annie and Steve and Ima and Amanda, and then there's the people he's friendly with, like Javert and Doppio and Dick and Triffany and others, and Riley and the Ring-Spirit are complicated but he cares about them, and...

...huh. When did this happen? He...he didn't even realize.
He's still very raw from what's happened, but...it seems like he's not as bad at forming relationships on his own, without Yugi, as he thought.

I was with Altair during the whole body puppet stuff. He was afraid of me being on my own. Which ended up being legit. We ended up getting chased by a *bear*. Came back to a wrecked couch. Kinda mad about it but better than getting hurt.
